A century of family tradition for a superior enological experience
Malmsey, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Muscat in white, Merlot and Cabernet in red, are the wine sorts produced by brothers and sons Ravalico. Tradition of wine making in family Ravalico started back in 1903. by grand grandfather Giovanni in Nova Vas, near Brtonigla, in the magical landscape of north-western Istria.
Improving its quality during the years, the winery went from grand grandfather Giovanni to grandfather Francesco, and at the time was only a small cellar with a capacity of 300 hectoliters.
The loyalty towards the cult grape and love for winemaking, was continued and spread by Francesco’s sons Bruno and Antonio. The new generation that leaded the company, conserved and perfected the process of production in their own basements, preserving a more than hundred years old family tradition of viticulture, situated in a small Nova Vas, within the walls of the old village that exudes a charming atmosphere where time seems to run slower. Viticulture passion that unites the family and care towards each and every hive continues with Robert and Bruno Jr. (Bruno’s sons) and Gianni (son of Antonio), who make the fourth generation of family Ravalico winemakers. Today, the vineyards Ravalico protrude over 33 hectares of sunny Buje hills, where the precious and special qualities come from the sun, proximity of the sea and the red and gray Istrian soil. Distinctiveness of these wines and the verified quality are recognized by a huge number of wine lovers and found in all famous restaurants in Istria, and beyond.
